Specialty radio is an essential component of Flying Colours’ promotional strategy, providing invaluable exposure for artists. The goal is to position releases to capture the attention of radio station managers and genre-specific tastemaker radio shows. We service music to all !earshot and Canadian NACC reporting stations, as well as satellite (SiriusXM), public radio (CBC), and Stingray Digital. Our team creates an engaging pitch for each radio release and tracks feature spins, official “adds", charts positions, and works to extract quality feedback on the music. Ideally paired with tour dates; Flying Colours can coordinate interviews and in-studio performances.

MATT SMALLWOOD

Founder.

With a career spanning over 25 years Flying Colours’ President Matt Smallwood spent almost a decade leading the daily operations of MapleMusic Recordings and Fontana North Distribution as General Manager, one of Canada’s largest and most successful music companies.

Matt’s dynamic background in sales, marketing, promotion, publishing and licensing puts him at the forefront of the label services business. 

Matt has been involved in the careers and overseen domestic releases of many significant artists such as Radiohead, Silversun Pickups, Alabama Shakes, Daniel Lanois, Death From Above 1979, and more.
